Höylä Metabo HO 18 LTX 20-82 musta vihreä punainen hopea

The Metabo HO 18 LTX 20-82 is a battery-operated planer designed for mobile and workshop woodworking where cordless freedom and consistent performance are required. With a planning width of 82 mm and a maximum idle speed of 16,000 RPM, the tool delivers precise material removal for smoothing, dressing edges, and creating rebates up to 2 mm deep. Weighing approximately 3.5 kg, the planer combines a compact form with sufficient cutting capacity: a maximum chip thickness of 9 mm allows both fine finishing passes and more aggressive stock removal when necessary. The unit’s design in black, green, red and silver complements Metabo tool ranges while providing practical handling for a variety of tasks.

Advantages

The cordless design removes the need for a power cable and increases portability on job sites and in tight spaces. High no-load speed ensures clean, even cuts and supports consistent finish quality across different wood types. The modest weight improves manoeuvrability during extended use, and the combination of 82 mm working width with up to 9 mm chip thickness gives a balance between fine planing and faster material removal. Compact rebate capability up to 2 mm adds versatility for joinery and edge work. The tool’s construction and controls are arranged to support straightforward, accurate operation.

Suitable for

• Smoothing and leveling timber surfaces
• Trimming doors and fitting frames on-site
• Creating shallow rebates and edge profiling
• Quick stock removal before finer finishing
• Portable woodworking tasks where a cordless solution is preferred

Key specifications

• Power source: Battery-operated (cordless)
• No-load speed: up to 16,000 RPM
• Planning width: 82 mm
• Maximum chip thickness: 9 mm
• Rebating depth: up to 2 mm
• Weight: approx. 3.5 kg
• Typical applications: planing, trimming, rebating

How to use

Before use, ensure the battery is charged and correctly seated according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Set the desired cutting depth and rebating depth using the tool’s adjustment controls, then position the planer on the workpiece with the base plate flat and the cutter head clear of the surface. Start the motor, allow it to reach full speed, and feed the planer along the grain with steady, even pressure to avoid tear-out. For accurate rebates or edge work, make several light passes rather than attempting deep cuts in a single pass. After finishing, switch off and remove the battery before performing any cleaning or blade changes.

Recommendations

Use sharp, manufacturer-recommended blades and work with the grain to achieve the best surface quality. For prolonged sessions, alternate work positions and take short breaks to maintain control and reduce fatigue. When working on finished surfaces, protect adjacent areas and test settings on scrap material to confirm depth and finish before making final passes.
