Sky-Watcher 330 mm Vixen-tyylinen lohenpyrstökisko EQ5/EQ6-jalustoille

Attaching a telescope tube or guide scope to an equatorial mount often becomes a struggle with mismatched or flimsy plates. The Sky-Watcher 330 mm dovetail bar solves that by offering a robust, precision-machined connection between your optical tube and EQ5 or EQ6 mounts. Its Vixen-style profile slides securely into standard clamps, while the anodized aluminum build resists corrosion and keeps weight low. Multiple threaded holes and slots along the bar allow flexible positioning of tube rings, so you can balance your setup exactly as needed. Whether you are mounting a refractor, a small Newtonian, or a guide scope for astrophotography, this bar provides a stable platform that minimizes flexure and keeps your optics aligned throughout the night.

Who is it for

This dovetail bar is ideal for amateur astronomers who own Sky-Watcher EQ5 or EQ6 mounts and need a reliable way to attach optical tubes or accessories. It suits visual observers who swap between scopes, as well as astrophotographers who require a rigid connection for guiding setups. If you use tube rings with standard spacing, the bar’s multiple mounting points will accommodate various ring positions. It is also a practical upgrade for anyone replacing a shorter or worn dovetail bar on a Vixen-style saddle.

Main features

• 330 mm length gives ample surface for tube rings and balance adjustment.
• Vixen-style (V-series) dovetail profile fits most standard clamps, including those on Sky-Watcher EQ5 and EQ6 mounts.
• Anodized aluminum construction offers corrosion resistance and a durable black finish.
• Multiple threaded holes and slots allow flexible tube ring placement.
• 44 mm width and 15 mm thickness provide a solid, low-profile mounting base.

Tips

Before finalizing your setup, position the dovetail bar so that the tube rings are centered over the mount’s saddle. This helps achieve proper balance in both right ascension and declination. If you use a heavy telescope or additional accessories, consider adding a second dovetail bar or a counterweight system to maintain stability. Always ensure the clamp screws are tightened securely, but avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to the anodized surface. For astrophotography, check for any flexure by gently pushing on the tube and watching for movement at the dovetail connection.
