AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q7M 7M aktiivinen optinen kaapeli, CBO SFP28-AOC-7M-LO-BO

AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q7M is a 7-meter active optical cable designed for use with 25GbE SFP28 ports. The cable provides a direct fiber link between compatible SFP28 network devices without the need for separate transceivers, enabling compact and reliable connections in data centre and server environments. Manufactured for short- to medium-reach interconnects, this AOC suits top-of-rack and leaf-spine topologies where bandwidth, low latency and predictable signal performance are required.

Advantages

The BlueOptics active optical cable combines the low insertion loss and electrical isolation of fibre with the convenience of a direct-attach form factor, reducing the need for individual transceivers. Its fixed 7 m length simplifies cable management and reduces clutter in rack environments. Because the cable integrates optical transceiver electronics, it maintains signal integrity over the stated reach while consuming less rack space than equivalent copper cables at similar data rates.

Suitable for

• 25GbE server-to-switch links in data centres
• Top-of-rack and leaf-spine interconnects
• High-density switch interconnections with limited rack space
• Short- to medium-reach optical connections between SFP28 ports

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 direct-attach active optical cable
• Data rate: 25 Gigabit Ethernet per lane (25GbE)
• Length: 7 metres
• Transmission medium: single-mode/multimode optical fibre with integrated transceiver electronics (active)
• Form factor: dual SFP28 plugs on both ends for direct device connection
• Typical applications: data centre interconnects, server and switch links

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the SFP28 port of the network devices until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered and configured for 25GbE operation; the cable will present as an integrated active link so no separate optical transceivers are required. Route the cable through the rack with adequate bend radius and secure it to avoid stress on the connectors. Monitor link status via the device management interface to confirm proper negotiation and operation.

Recommendations

Maintain manufacturer-recommended minimum bend radius and handle the optical connectors by the housing to avoid contaminating or damaging the ferrule. Use this AOC in environments matching the cable reach and data-rate requirements; for longer distances consider dedicated transceivers with external fibre patching.
