Kuitukaapeli Helos 2 m OM3 SC/SC

The Helos 2m OM3 SC/SC fibre optic cable is a duplex multimode patch cord designed for high-speed data transmission in structured network environments. With a 50 µm core diameter and OM3 grade multimode glass, the cable supports short-range high-bandwidth applications and is suitable for use in data centres, server rooms and telecommunications cabinets. The SC/SC simplex connectors provide push-pull snap-in coupling for stable connections, while the turquoise jacket colour helps with rapid identification and organised cabling runs.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable provides consistent multimode performance with low insertion loss and reliable optical alignment between SC connectors. The OM3 rating enables higher modal bandwidth suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over recommended distances. Its duplex configuration supports full duplex communication, and the sturdy jacket offers mechanical protection while remaining flexible enough for standard installation paths. The standard 2 m length balances reach and manageability in rack-mounted and patch-panel setups.

Suitable for

• 10 Gigabit Ethernet links in data centres and server rooms
• Patching between fibre distribution panels and switches
• Short-range multimode optical links for storage area networks (SAN)
• Telecommunications closets and LAN backbone connections

Key specifications

• Type: Multimode OM3 duplex fibre optic cable
• Connector ends: SC to SC, duplex
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 2 m
• Jacket colour: Turquoise
• Supported communication: Full duplex
• Typical applications: Short to medium-range high-bandwidth links

How to use

Route the Helos OM3 SC/SC cable along the planned cable tray or through the rack space, avoiding tight bends and excessive tensile strain. Insert each SC connector into the corresponding SC adapter or port until it clicks into place, ensuring correct orientation for duplex operation. Confirm link integrity using network diagnostics or an optical loss test set if available. When disconnecting, depress the SC connector latch and pull straight out to prevent damaging the ferrule or adapter.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, maintain the minimum bend radius specified by industry standards for multimode fibre, keep connectors clean using appropriate fibre cleaning tools, and store unused cable ends with protective dust caps. Use this OM3 duplex cable for short-range high-speed links and pair it with compatible OM3-rated transceivers and equipment to ensure expected bandwidth and link stability.
